McGartland instructs two sections in business writing and one in organizational writing. Additional- Allegheny College, where she taught part-time, McGartland earned her undergraduate degree in Gerentology from Penn State and her Masters in Fine Art from the University of Pittsburgh. She is an experienced advertising copywriter and business writer. One of McGartland's interests is poetry. Currently trying to have some of her work published, she has received an Academy of American Poets prize. McGartland hopes to instruct a creative writing course in the future.
