The final event will be a student poll taken either during the last week in September or the' first week in October concerning whether or not the University should divest its funds involved in South Africa. Video tapes will be shown to inform students more about this issue. SGA also announced that there are two openings offered to freshman on the Senate. Students picked up petitions on Sept. 4 and the voting will take place on Sept. 14. During this meeting, President of Commuter Council, Bryan Schuster, expressed his concern immediately after it is received, which' should be approximately October 1. The users of the new equipment will be primarily ad vanced and graduate students. Security measures will be taken to fasten the computers down and devices will be installed to insure protection of the equipment. George Dudas acts as coordinator of the computer center. about the parking fee require ment. He brought up the question of why Behrend Campus unlike other campuses didn’t eliminate the parking fee and instead raise the tuition. Dean of Student Af fairs, Dohn Harshbarger answered, “Behrend College along with University Park, and Capitol Campus has such a high percentage of dorm students that raising the tuition wouldn’t be fair because the majority of them do not have motor vehicles.’’ Students should be aware of this' and realize that strict ticketing will begin in the near future. There is a chance that a new club will be added to the SGA. The ‘Behrend Film Production Club’ will familiarize students who are interested in communica- tions and the stages of film pro duction and also provide the stu dent body with an additional ac tivity. As discussion of this new club is pending, a decision will not be reached until the conlusion of the SGA’s Sept. 11 meeting. Doug Gerow, SGA President appointed members of the organization to their different positions and committees. SGA hoids meetings on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in the Reed Seminar Room.
