Soccer
Comes
The Cub Soccer Players ended
their 1979-80 season on a losing
note as they wound up with an
even 6-6 slate.
Back on the 24th, Grove City
put down Behrend 1-0. Their goal
came at 33:34 of the first half
when John Russell hooked a shot
into the nets, unassisted. The
Cubs then dropped to 6-5.
Last Tuesday's action saw
Fredonia State up their cards to
9-4 by defeating Behrend 3-1.
Rifle Team Loses
Second Match
The Behrend Rifle Team now
stands at 1-2, due to a loss on
Friday. Pitt-Bradford dumped
the Cubs 1254-1115. The high
shooter for Behrend was John
Lattin with a 251. Following John
was John Falcone with 224,
Bernadette Brown with 218,
Behrend Recruits
Male Cheerleaders
Well, they did it. Despite the
slack from their friends and the
teasing from the guys on their
floor, they went and tried out for
cheerleading. And they made it!
Congratulations Keith Wright
and Barry Min!!
Cheering along with Keith and
Barry will be the rest of the 1979-
80 Basketball Cheerleading
Squad. They are Kim DiNicola,
Karen Kramer, Mary Miseta,
Sandy Pate, Dyane Polite, Laurie
Herron, Debbie Kuhn, and Leslie
Fitchwell.
Also new to this season will be
the uniforms. These uniforms
were badly needed and long
Volleyball
Faults
Behrend Girls' Volleyball
dropped two in recent action, as
their cards fell to a 8-8 mark.
The 24th's action trough on
Grove City. They knocked off
Behrend 15-7, 15-2, and 15-8.
Last Tuesday, Geneva earned a
win over the Cubs by defeating
them 15-12, 15-8, 17-15, and 15-12.
ALUMNI
GAME
SCHEDULED
The Warren Bebrend Athletic
Association is planning its 4th
Annual - Alumni Basketball
Game. The game is scheduled for
Saturday, November 10 at 6:30
p.m. followed by a Varsity
Intrasquad Game at 8:15. Later,
at 10 p.m. a reception will be held
at the Holiday Inn South. Cost of
the game and reception (in
cluding gratutities and tax) will
be $5 per person. There will be an
admission charge of 50 cents of
students and $1 for adults who
come to the basketball games,
but do not go to the reception.
Interested faculty and staff may
make reservations for the buffet
through Pat Thurston, ext. 235, or
Roger Sweeting, ext. 322.

Season
To Close
Fredonia led 1-0 at the half but
the Cubs dead-locked the game at
1-1 with Mike Oliu's fourth goal of
the season at 5:28 of the second
half. After that, the Cubs were
unable to score again while the
Blue Devils netted two more to
make the score a final 3-1.
Fredonia outshot BC 28-7, a very
unbalanced game as far as shots
on goal were concerned. Cub
goalie Sam King registered
twelve saves while opposing Tom
Klemic had only three.
Shawn Phaneuf with 217, and
Kathy Kightlinger with 205. Our
accumulation of 1115 points was
the highest total to date this
season. The team has been im
proving tremendously.
The Rifle Team takes on
Gannon College at Gannon today.

Alumni Game this Saturday
Night.
