The Walker Award recognizes a student who is competing two full years of freshman-sophomore study at a Commonwealth Cam pus, and who demonstrates out standing qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Scholarships Improve Your Study Skills- award, which recognizes the student with the highest achievement in freshman chemistry. Students must apply for the following scholarships. The ap plication procedures and requirements are available in the Student Affairs Office and are publicized in the student newspaper; on bulletin boards, and through faculty members. BAYARD D. AND ETHEL M. KUNKLE SCHOLARSHIP The Kunkle Scholarship aids and recognizes outstanding students at Penn State campuses who need funds to meet necessary college .expenses. Scholarship recipients must exemplify good citizenship, give evidence of leadership, and exhibit professional promise. These scholarships are awarded by a committee on the basis of the aforementioned qualities and financial need. For the 1979-80 academic year, fourteen Kunkle Scholarships were awarded to Behrend students. Application in formation is available in the Student Affairs Office. THE BEHREND COLLEGE FACULTY WOMEN AND WIVES SCHOLARSHIP The scholarship, presented an nually by the Association of Faculty Women and Wives, aids and honors an outstanding seven th - and eighth-term bac calaureate student in a Behrend College major. A. committee com posed of representatives of the Association of Faculty Women and Wives and a member of the Student Affairs Office selects the scholarship recipient (s).
