    Bus Service
Bus service to all parts of the
city is made available to the
Behrend College community by
the Erie Metropolitan Transit
Authority (EMTA). The bus stop
on campus is located near Erie
Hall across from the student
parking .10. This bus travels to
and from downtown Erie.
However, you may reach other
parts of the city by transferring to
another bus at one of the down
town Erie stops. The EMTA offers
a reduced fare of 25 cents to
students with the proper college
ID card. The transfer fare is an
additional 5 cents. Listed below
are the schedules to and from
Bebrend College • (Route No. 1),
and to and from the Millcreek
Mall (Route No. 9). You may
make the connections with the
Millcreek Mall bus in downtown
Erie.
Buses leave downtown Erk.
(Perry Square) for Wesleyville
and Behrend College (Route No.
1).

Engineering
Textbook
If you are an engineering , •
student in need of a textbook, you
should contact the Student Affairs
Office before you buy. Thanks to
the Society of Manufacturing
Engineers of Erie, a lending
library of textbooks is available in
the Student Affairs Office for all
engineering Students. Each
student is permitted to borrow one
book per term for use during that
term. All books are returned to
the Student Affairs Office at the,
end of the term. Don't lose out on

ROTC Offers Leadership Experience
ROTC • is a student-run
organization that gives leadership
and management experience
seldom found in other college
courses.
ROTC courses are. taken as
electives, or as part of a program
leading to a commission in the
National Guard, Reserve, or .Ac
tive components of the U.S. 'Army.
They are Open to all students,
require no prerequisites, and
have no service obligation when
taken as electives. .

The University shall provide
methods of course examination
or other procedures for evaluat
ing academic progress of han
dicapped students who have a
handicap that impairs sensory,
manual, or speaking skids, which
test academic progress rather
than the impairment (except
where such skills are factors to be
measured).
No handicapped student will be
discriminated against in the ac
cess to classes because of
mobility impairment. The Univer
sity shall take steps to ensure that
no handicapped student is unable
to obtain an education because of
a lack of auxiliary aids.

team, weekend outings, and other
social functions and activities
generated and conducted by the
students. In addition ROTC also
offers one, two, and three-year
scholarships which include $lOO
per month spending money.
Juniors and seniors enrolled in
ROTC also receive $lOO per month
subsistence allowance.

Smoking
Policy
Smoking is acceptable in:
1. Hallways and lobbies of the
Behrend and Nick buildings.
2. The lobby of Erie Hall.
3. The lobbies and halls of the
Reed Building.
4. The Reed Building dining
areas only in those areas
designated for smoking.
5. Dobbins Hall dining area only
in those areas designated for
smoking.
6. Private offices at the
discretion of the assigned oc
cupant(s) .
7. The Back Room of the Reed
Building.
Smoking is not acceptable in:
1. Classrooms, laboratories,
and seminar rooms.
2. Lecture halls.
3. Turnbull Hall except private
offices.
4. Stairwells.
5. Erie Hall except the lobby.
6. The library except in private
offices.
7. The studio except in private
offices.
8. The bookstore except in
private offices.
