promises Frankenstein, UFO’s
Are you a Gene Wilder fan?
The Student Union Board has a
series of Gene Wilder movies that
promise to be very good. “Young
Frankenstein” kicked the series
off on December 10th, and more
are coming up, including the
“World’s Greatest Lover,”
“Sherlock Holmes” Smarter
Brother,” “Start the Revolution
Without Me,” and “Silver
Streak.” So go! And be prepared
for a really good movie.
Why has our government
covered up evidence that proves
U.F.O.’s exist? What caused
Jimmy Carter to back down on
his promise to declassify U.F.O.
files? Can U.F.O.’s be respon
sible for the Bermuda Triangle
disappearances?
Author John Wallace Spencer
probes these questions and more
in his fascinating slide program,
“No Earthly Explanation.” It is a
factual and concise presentation
Published by the Students of the Behrend College of the Pennsylvania State University
that includes insii
he gathered while an air force
officer and Chief Investigator for
the National Investigations
Committee on Aerial
Phenomena.
“Watergate is nothing- com
pared to the cover up on U.F.O.’s,
says Spencer, whose books in
clude: “The U.F.O. Yearbook,”
“No Earthly Explanation,” and
the 2% million copy bestseller
about the Bermuda Triangle,
“Limbo of the Lost.” This is sure
to 'be an' incredible, program on
America’s hottest topic! Come
see it on January 11, and may the
Force be with you!
People! They complain there’s
nothing to do at Behrend, and
that’s just not true. The Music
Department is having a choral
concert on the 13th at eight
o’clock. They are also having a
jazz band on the 15th at the same
time.

The J.R.C. and the S.U.B. are
having a Christmas dance on the
15th with the music of The Second
Edition. This band is super good.
Let’s not waste it. You can get
your picture taken with Santa,
and tell him what you really want
for Christmas! There’s also a
crafts show at the mall on
Friday. This is the work of
Behrend’s most talented.
Last, but by far the least, is the
Winter Weekend! This is the 20
and 21st of January, and it’s
super. There will be a semi
formal dance at the Hilton for
$14.00 a couple, with the band,
Jordon, playing from nine to one.
There’s a lot of snow fun that
weekend too. It’s gonna be a lot of
fun. Behrend’s got things to do,
you just have to look!

ime for caution
The year’s first snowstorm hit
the Erie area this past weekend,
and the large number of “fender
benders” handled by the local
and State Police proved that
many people were not ready for
the snow. - A State Police
patrolman said that “People
were not accustomed to winter
driving.” He went on to say that
icy roads and other winter condi
tions were new to the area, and
many drivers would have to learn
to drive “winter style” again..
Driving for this poor weather
includes slowing down, even
braking, and extra caution.
Steady speeds and increased
distance between autos is also
advised. He also wanted to
remind motorists that it is illegal

covered. All windows, especially
the rear window, must give good
visibility. Needless to say,
snowtires are highly recom
mended to give added traction on
ice and snow.
In a related matter, caution is
advised for all students walking
on campus. The ground crews do
a fantastic job, but with all the
snow that can accumulate, and
the large area to cover, it is
almost inevitable that some snow
will pile up somewhere. There
will be slippery spots, so watch
for them. As with cross-town
driving, allow extra time to reach
your next class. There are a lot of
steps on campus, and if you’re
not in a hurry, then you will be
less likely to slip from going too
fast.
