All those kids who are used to being the high school seniors, are now the little punk freshman in college. (At least in the estimation of the upperclassmen around campus.) And those upperclassmen have good reason for thinking that. especially when they see the freshmen trying to do their own laundry for the first time. And so we have the basis for the washer zind dryer dilemma. Now most of us who have never been faced with having . to do our own laundry think all that is involved is taking off your dirty socks at the end of the day. throwing them into the hamper. and by some strange miracle. mommy) those same socks appear in our dresser the very next morning. Were we ever surprised to find out that it wasn't quite that easy. After the dirty clothes have made a good sized pile at the bottom of th , - closet. we decide that the time has come for us to finally learn how to wash them. So we grab the pile. and our box of all-purpose detergent. and off we march to the laundry room. With a big smile on our face we walk in. hut that smile quickly turns upside down when we meet lace to face with our enemies: the washer and dryer. "This will be a breeze. all I have to do is read the instructions, - is what runs through our minds. So we look down at the in structions and notice that it says to wash whites in hot and colors in cold. "Oh wow! I have both! I guess I'll compromise.
