The art and photo exhibition will be open daily for the duration of the festival. The art exhibit includes works of tri-state area artists, selected pieces from the Erie Arts Center's permanent collection and works from the University Park Spring Show of student art. The photo exhibition includes the work of Behrend students, faculty and staff. The Union City Karate Club will present a Marshal Arts Exhibition on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. in Erie Hall. Thursday's featured film "King Rat" will be shown in the Reed Lecture Hall beginning at 9:30 p.m. The film, starring Segal, Tom Courtenay and James Fox, depicts the fight for survival of American prisoners in the Changi prison during the closing days of World War IL A highlight of this year's festival will be a seminar on Friday with members of the Eastern Opera Theatre of New York. The seminar begins at 11 a.m. and will include a discussion of opera in America today. Mk Opera Theatre is in Erie for a performance of the Barber of Seville with the Erie Philhar monic Orchestra. The Great American film feature for Friday_ will be "I Never Sang For My Father." The drama depidts the relationship between a self righteous father (Melvyn Douglas) and his two grown children (Gene Hackman and Estelle Parsons). SGA in act Monday evening's SGA meeting began with a - request by the ROTC "Adventure Club" to become an officially chartered club of the SGA of Behrend College. After a considerably amount of debate centering on the function of this club. a vote was taken, and the Club's charter was approved. Mike Woods then suggested that the most worthwhile project to pursue at this point is a non alcoholic bash, to "conclude" the Academic year. Neither the date for nor the area for this event to be held have been finalized, Ferkiss talks "Creating Chosen Futures: The New Meaning of Freedom in America's Third Century," will be the topic of a free public lecture to be given tonight. Speaking will be Dr. Victor C. Ferkiss; professor of government at Georgeown University. The lecture will be at 8 p.m. at Zurn Science Building at Gannon College. Dr.- Ferkiss' talk is being sponsored by Gannon, Allegheny, Edinboro, Mercyhurst and Villa Maria Colleges in association with Behrend College Penn State. His talk is part of the Penn State "Freedom: Then, Now, and Tomorrow". Bicentennial program designed to provide Pennsylvanians with a chance, to examine the nature of freedom in American society. In addition to public lectures, more than 1,000 statewide Town Meetings, films, books, and television programs are enabling Pennsylvanians to participate in observing our nation's Bicen tennial.
