Coach Herb Lauffer says that the team is a strong one—one of the strongest to be produced by Behrend. The • chances of doing well in the up-coming District 18 tournament are excellent if the draw we receive is at all favorable. The tourney is to be held this Thursday and Friday in Slippery Rock State College. The defend ing champions are Mercyhurst, and they are favored to take first again. If the draw places them so that our men meet theirs in the ad vanced states of competition Coach Lauffer believes we will surely take record or third place— a notable achievement indeed. collected a home run in the third inning of the first game, and Jim Davis also belted a homer, this one in the third inning of the second game. The teams record now stands at 11-5 with eight more games on the schedule. We'd have to win only one more game in the rest of the season to insure a successful season, but in reality the team will probably do much better. Stoner said "the hitters have been our strong point, winning the games for us. The team has a .329 average as a whole, and .344 in the last four games." However the pitching shows much room for improvement. Coach Stoner said "The batters have been getting us a comfortable lead, and the lead is suddenly gone." Stone said "We have not been eliminated for contention in the playoffs. If we get our total game together we have an excellent chance to go to the playoffs for the first time since achieving four year status." Eastway Bowling Lanes 4110 Buffalo Road Open Bowling Mon.
