The Board is also responsible for the ad ministration of activities, programs, and services which are of all-college nature ap propriate to the campus. Also sponsored by the Board last week was a concert by the nationally-known group, the Guess Who. The Canadian-based musicians performed before a sell-out crowd at the Warner Theatre. The main feature upcoming on When You Patronize Our Advertisers Tell Them You Sow Their Ad in the Behrend Collegian the SUB’s schedule is the ap pearance of Robiri Williams on October 12, 13, and 14 at 9 p.m. There is more to Williams than a guitar and a good voice. Audiences get caught up with his easy going, no frills, no fancies, charm. There is a touch of that rare commodity, modesty, still apparent in his stage presence. Robin says, he sings whatever he likes. “I have no particular theme or message to get across,” he says. “I just like to entertain.” He has a wide repertoire, from lEes Crag* * JJetottter DIAMONDS-WATCHES CRYSTAL-SILVER-GIFTS Colong Plaza Phone 833-5311 2626 WEST BTH STREET ERIE, Pfl. 16505 Behrend Collegian folk, to country, to pop. Literary Baby Needs Tender Loving Care A new style of literary magazine was conceived recently, and is expected to be born around the beginning of May. This baby is unique and exciting in more ways than one. First its body will be different from most other literary magazines. Instead of a quiet little book, this baby will actually be an intriguing envelope filled with creative posters. Second, the magazine will get its nourishment (in the form of previously un published short stories, poems, and essays) from both Behrend students and faculty. I could tell you about its color, height, weight, etc., but that would spoil the actual birth for you. Instead, let me tell you what we need to get this baby born without any Local Clean Air Week Initiates Tree Plant-In The Clean Air Committee for the city of Erie is sponsoring a Clean Air Week, October 15-21. Its purpose is to bring to the attention of the citizens of Erie, the threat being created by the pollution of the air we breathe, and what they can do to help alleviate the problem. Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 14, with a tree plant-in at 18th and Holland Streets, the week continues with newspaper articles, television announcements and a flyer distribution at the plazas and supermarkets on Thursday October 19. Through these planned activities, the Committee hopes to show that one does not have to be in industry to be able to do something about air pollution, that everyone, in some way or another, can help do something about the problem. At the present, the Committee still needs volunteers to distribute the C.J. DUSCKAS FUNERAL HOME 2607 Buffalo Rd. 899-2812 £?uc I 1946” l IN .. . ERIE i THE WARREN co.
