Away With Words
Using multi screen projection, 360 degree sound and other
multi media techniques, the Beatles, "Away With Words"
traced the history of popular music during the 'so's and
'6o's.
JRC Solves Major
Resident Problems
Small things add up to big
things concerning visitation.
Such was one of the major topics
of discussion at the November 9th
meeting of the Joint Resident
Council. The meeting was at
tended by a resident assistant
from each dorm, and Benjamin
A. Lane, Dean of Student Affairs.
Lane had attended a meeting of
the Pennsylvania Association of
Student Administrators. Each
member was given a letter from
Howard University in
Washington D.C. concerning
their problems with open
visitation. The letter stressed the
importance of signing in and out
in conjunction with the escort
system. Students may complain
about this system, but it is for
their own protection. These rules
are made to prohibit non-students
from being in the halls without an
escort.

The resident assistants at
tended this meeting to bring to
the attention of the JRC these
problems concerning official
warnings received in conjunction
with visitation. Under the present
system, floor representatives are
able to give official warnings.
After some deliberation, there
was a general consensus that
R.A.'s will now be the only people
with the authority to issue official
warnings. The R.S. 's have been
trained as to how and why to give
warnings, and it was agreed that
they are the only qualified people
to do this.
It was also decided that the
floor representatives will call
floor meetings, represent the
students on the floors, and make
the resident students' wishes
known. However, they will
henceforth not have the power to
issue official warnings.
Ski
Club
The Ski Club will hold a
meeting. Tuesday,
November 16 during Com
mon Hour in the RUB
Lecture Hall. All members
are asked to attend.

Beatles Film
Successful
Free sex did not prevent ap
proximately 1000 people from
seeing The Beatles: Away With
Words, which was presented at
the Warner Theatre on Thursday,
November 4. The presentation
was a unique tribute to the
English rock group that
dominated the music of the 60's.
"Away with Words" was not only
a musical tribute, however. It
was also a historical document,
showing the phenomenal hap
penings of the period when the
Beatles were at the height of their
fame.
From Little Richard's bop
bopbi bop, "Away with Words"
took its audience on a journey
through the music of the 50's to
the music of the 70's. The walls
rocked to the beat of the rock 'n'
roll as it was in the early days of
2,3, 4 and I Want To Hold Your
Hand. With music from "Magical
Mystery Tour". it traveled
through the drug
experimentation period of Beatle
history. Images flickered and
melted into one another and the
music became subdued. John's
lyrics became almost serious in
Within You Without You and
Come Together.
And all the while, the Beatles
played the important role of
metaphor for a youth seeking
salvation. Throughout "Away
With Words" the Beatles have an
answer of sorts in Paul's tender
rendition of Let It Be.
3. The student will pre-register
for Spring Term 1972.
4. Student will complete Number
Two Card according to his
adjusted "work sheet."
ALL STUDENTS will register
according to the following
schedule. Freshman and
Sophomores should both follow
the alphabetical listing as in
dicated.
