Listening
Experiment
An experiment in impact
listening will be held Thursday,
October 14, in the Quiet Lounge of
the Reed Union Building.
Impact listening is a group
listening process, where the
members express their feelings
on different subjects. The idea is
not to listen to pass judgement,
but to listen with interest and
understanding. The experience is
designed to help you learn to
express yourself moreeasily, and
to share your feelings. Members
are given a chance to open up and
understand themselves as well as
the feelings of people around
them.
The subject to be discussed will
be religion. Dr. Frankforter,
Asst. Prof. of History; Mr.
Daniel, Instructor in History;
and Father Patrick' from St.
Mark's Seminary will be present
to offer reference and guidance
on the subject.
This session could be the start
of an impact listening program
and free university program at
Behrend. If you are interested,
please attend. Your attendance
and interest is greatly needed, for
further discussion groups on
other stubjects.

Human Sexuality
Course Offered
The Committee on Human
Sexuality is sponsoring a lecture
discussion series on "Topics in
Human Sexuality". It is agreed
that the University has a key role
in providing accurate in

responsible choices when
questions to human sexuality
arise. To meet this responsibility,
the Committee on Human
Sexuality offers an excellent non
credit course which confronts
and achieves effective solutions
for society's sexual problems.
Miss Ellyn Carroll, Asst. to the
Dean of Student Affairs, stated
that "a college education has an
obligation to provide students
with an increasing body of
knowledge concerning them
selves, other human beings, and
their relationships.
The program involves at
tending seven lectures (one each

at 7:30p.m. in the Studio. Tickets will
be on sale soon for just a quarter.
The performers in this year's

real Halloween tradition. That,
together with candlelight and grinning
Jack O'Lanterns helped to establish
the atmosphere that so many Behrend
students enjoyed at last year's
presentation.
Because of the over-capacity crowd
that attended last year, the Readers
will present the Halloween show twice
if there seems to be a similar amount
of student interest.
agencies and professional
societies. Volunteers for
discussion leaders will be trained
at a "staff" session.
Dean Carroll encourages any

contact Mr. Hohwald, counselor
for Division of Counseling.
Anyone is invited to serve on any
of the following committees:
Speaker Committee, Publicity
Committee, Program Com
mittee, and Registration Com
mittee.
This year the topics will be
more involved and related to the
human aspect of sexuality, in
stead of physical information.
The subjects discussed last year
were psycho-sexual develop
ment, contraception, inter
personal relationships, venereal
disease, pregnancy and birth,
human sexual response, and
abortion. _
Providing that people offer
their services to the Human
