The men's water polo team came back from
the Navy tournament in Annapolis,
Md. a little battered, but with their first win of
the season safely secured.
This is one of the youngest teams in Behrend
history with six sophomores, seven Freshman
and only one senior currently on the roster. To
say the least, it is a rebuilding season for
men's water polo.
"It was great experience for both the fresh
men and the returners to play such incredible
teams in our first games," said sophomore cap
tain Nick Loukides. "Our freshmen did a great
job in their inaugural college games. They re
ally stepped up and helped the team out in our

Navy, ranked fourteenth in the country, was
Behrend's first opponent in the tournament,
and they came out scorching against the Lions
putting 19 goals up on the scoreboard through
out the game.
Loukides and his squad had similar results
against George Washington (ranked in top 30
in the country) as they beat Behrend by 10
even after putting up seven goals against the
Colonials.
In the second and last day of the tourna

defeating Lindenwood University 11-8 in the
first game of the day. After falling behind 6-5
at the half, sophomores

Tortella hit a perfect chip

After at
tending
last weekend's game a few
things were certain to me.
Robert Bolden is the real
deal, the offensive line will
make or break our season,
and the defense is in for a
long year, and the kinks in
the special teams are
worked out.
Bolden had the full sup
port of the 109,000 fans
that were there as he got
off the bus and entered the
stadium. Despite offensive
coordinator Galen Hall lim
iting the play calls, Bolden
gave the fans reason to be
lieve he can lead this team.
His first touchdown pass
to Brett Brackett had flair,
He even looked off to the
safeties, which is unusual
for a true freshmen, espe
cially in their debut. His
passes were all in the right
spots.
The one thing Bolden
must improve on is his
reading of the defense. Nu
merous times he was late
on reads, but got away with
them. This week any late
reads will result in big
plays for the Tide and will
send Bryant Stadium into a
frenzy.
The offensive line was
awful to say the least, par
ticularly in the run game
portion. Despite the right
side being anchored by
seniors, the left side is new,
and it showed. It's promis
ing that the line did not
give up a sack and they
looked decent in pass
blocking. The running
backs had nowhere inside
to run and Penn State
ended the game with only
132 yards rushing.
From a fans perspective
you have to be worried big
time if Youngstown State
linebackers and defensive
line was so successful,
what does Saturday have in
store? The fourth quarter
did not look so well for the
Blue and White.
The defense is getting
praised for their perform
ance on Saturday for the 17
straight game limiting a
team to not having a 100-
yards rusher. Was everyone
else watching the same
game as I was?
You could be rich if you
got a dollar every time
Penn State missed a tackle.
Both groups should be
working on wrapping up,
linebackers working on
pass drops, and the sec
ondary working on their
coverages. The linebackers
