Ask five-time mayoral candi
date Jack Anderson his strategy
for winning this time around,
and he tells a story about his
grandfather.
John B. Anderson. a staunch
Democrat. walked into his
polling station and voted the
party line, every election. every
office.
"You could have had John
Dillinger and Al Capone run
ning on the Democratic ticket,
and he would have voted for
them,' said Anderson. a 72-
year-old Republican.
Anderson has spent much of
his time since the municipal
primary in May trying to con
vince Democrats not to do the
same thing -- a strategy he
hopes will pay off when he
faces Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott in
the general election on Nov. 3.
Its no easy task in a town
with a nearly 3-to- I Democratic
voter registration edge.
