“With the Metzgar opening,

the first place people are going

going to stop there and ask di

places [so] that portion of the
RUB desk’s function is kind of
obsolete now.”
In addition to the RUB desk

where students can study with
traditional tables and chairs.

University Faculty Senate Representative
Paris Norwood
Semester: 7
Major: Psychology
I am requesting your consideration for the posi
tion of University Faculty Senate Representative.
My interest in Forensic Psychology; understand
ing how law pertains to how people think, would
make me a great liaison between the Senate and
student body. As previous President of the Asso
ciation of Black Collegians, and President of the
Psychology Club, I have gained a strong grasp of
problems students face. Although holding these
positions is a strength that helped me acquire
knowledge about the matters that affect stu
dents, I believe my true strength comes from my
immersion and investment in what is truly Penn
State; an institution that works to improve the
well being of individuals and communities
through teaching, research, and service. I under
stand the importance of working together for a
common cause. Thank you for your considera
tion as a candidate for UFSR.

Hello Everyone! I am currently the Vice-President
of the MIS club and was an active member of the
SGA Senate in the past. I would like the opportu
nity to help serve the student body by being a part
of SGA. I will do my best to help students get the
most out of their time here at PSB. Your vote would
be very much appreciated. Thank you.
[since] student lounge space is
very limited in Reed right now,
this will give a place for com
muter students who are waiting
in between classes to go and
hang out instead of waiting in
the academic buildings,” says
Kovalcik.
Kovalcik explained that the
student lounge space will allow
students who live in the apart
ments or Almy to hangout if
they have time to spare inbe
tween classes.
“Bruno’s isn’t necessarily a
place to hang out. It’s just the
default location because there’s
nothing for people to do right
now so this is just adding to
that student experience of hav
ing a place to be.”

Smith explained that he “felt
the Beacon should be recog
nized because they dealt with
out [his] assistance for a
month.”
Smith is a member of the
171st Security Forces Squadron
in the United States Air Force
and Pennsylvania Air National
Guard. He is also a photo editor
for the Beacon.
Because of his dedication and
involvement with the Air Na
tional Guard , he is on standby
to miss weeks, or even months,
of school as needed.
Last year he traveled to
South Korea for a month on a

The Student Government Association provides a
medium through which students can make their
voices heard not only on this campus, but Uni
versity wide. Beyond academics, an important
aspect of university life is the opportunity to be
involved in organizations that serve to enrich
your experience. SGA funds those organizations.
As a former voting member of SGA, I can tell you
that it is a very rewarding experience. I would
love to be a part of that again. I vow to represent
not only myself, but also the student body that I
pride myself in being a part of.
