CAMPUS NEWS
This past semester, a few of our Behrend stu
dents were missing from the usual hustle and
bustle of the classroom, particularly one. Dan
Smith, the Behrend Beacon's photographer,
was stationed in South Korea for over a month
during Spring Break and well into the weeks
following Spring Break. As a member of the
171st Security Forces Squadron in the US Air
Force and Pennsylvania Air National Guard,
Smith is constantly on standby to miss weeks
or months upon end of school.

The Behrend golf team came in first place out
of the Division 111 branch in the Behrend
Spring Invitational at Peak-N Peek's lower
course which was the last home match for the
two seniors, Jon Arrigo and Bill Weeks.
According to the Behrend webstite, the Penn
Stats Behrend blue team and Medaille College
both finished with a score of 309. With this
score, the Blue and White won the NCAA
Division 111 level. In Division II play, Gannon
was the winner, shooting an overall 290 on the
day.
