Mahoney and Palmer signed the document to confirm that the items had been confiscated. Their signatures were not an admittance of guilt to any crimes nor a claim to ownership of the items. As of April 13, no charges have been filed against Mahoney or Palmer. Behrend Koerbel got his sixth win of the season after pitching a com plete game. He gave up only two hits and struck out six in the first game of the double header. The victory marked his 24th win of his career, the most in Behrend history. "We competed at a high level," head coach Paul Benim said. "We had outstanding starting pitching from David Koerbel." Both teams threatened to score in the first inning. In the top of the first, Pitt-Greens burg's Matt Gouveia was left stranded on third base to end the inning. In the bottom of the first, Behrend sophomore Jon Gray reached first base after being hit by a pitch. Gray advanced to second due to sophomore Ed Kessler walking to first. With two on and no outs, the Behrend Lions were in position to score early in the game and take the lead. Sophomore Josh Fyffe laid down a sacrifice bunt which advanced the runners to third and second base. How ever, the runners were left on base at the end of the inning as Pitt-Greensburg got the two outs they needed. The first run for the Behrend Lions came in the bottom of the third. After Kessler reached on a single, he got into scoring po sition by stealing second. Fyffe picked up an RBI as he doubled by hitting a hard ball past the third baseman that drove in Kessler. At the end of the third inning the score was 1-0 in blend of traditional New Or leans' music that traces its roots back to Second Line pa rades (which descended from the famous jazz funerals often held in New Orleans).
