A LISTSERV e-mail will be sent out to students the week
of April 12th directing Behrend students to a site where
they will choose representatives from the student body
to serve on the Student Government Association (SGA)
for the 2009-2010 school year. Below is a list of the can
didates running in this year's elections.
President: Bradley Kovalcik
Bth semester: Creative Writing
Experience: Mr. Kovalcik and Ms. Thomas have a
combined experience of five years in SGA as well as
two years on the executive board. The two are the
most experienced students at Behrend dealing with
policy making and advocacy for students. They plan
on expanding this knowledge to other students by
recognizing them for their leadership and accom-
plishments at the college and will continue to push
for a wealth of leadership in the Student
Government so that students of the college are well
represented.
Transparency: Kovalcik and Thomas plan to create
a bigger presence of the SGA at Behrend so that the
students of the college know what is being dis-
cussed and worked on. This will include regular
open forums and a constantly updated website
Their main goal is for students to become involved
with the changes being made to better Behrend.
Furthering Behrend: Behrend has been growing for
60 years, and under Kovalcik and Thomas's leader
ship it will only continue to grow for the better.
They would like to work on expanding course offer-

At the beginning of the 2008-2009 academic school year,
I was granted the privilege of serving the Behrend com
munity as an upperclassman Senator for the Behrend
Student Government Association. Throughout that period
of time, I gave my best effort through speaking up in meetings, giving my input, attend
ing all events for the SGA, and serving office hours every week. I would love to serve
the student body here at Behrend as the secretary for the SGA. I am very skilled at
keeping student groups focused and organized. I am currently involved in the LEB,
SGA, Facility Fee Committee, KDR, and I am chairing the Spring 2009 Concert
Committee.
