Reality Check, a local organi

community service, co-sponsored
the event with a Residence
Service Leader from Almy Hall,
Catherine Franks.
For her, the Habitat trip provid

and creative energies of the stu

Franks, a freshman mechanical
engineering major, said that any
one can participate and do some
good in this type of event. "It
started with a few people in my
building, but people wanted to
join in." Though it was her first
time with Habitat for Humanity,
she helped to direct the partici
pants' painting throughout the
day.

R & B artist Chris Brown has been accused uf abusing his girlfriend, Rihanna.
Heavy Metal music has been around for quite some
time. Starting with the revolutions of Metalhca, 0 - rzy
Osboume, and Megadeath, it gained a certain amount of
mainstream respect. Several thousand of barkk have
come about since that beginning era surrounding the
1980 s. One of the best, in my opinion, is Lamb of God,
and with this new release of Wrath, which hit stores
February 24th, their talent is seen at an even higher
level.
Forming in 1990 in Richmond, Virginia. Lamb of
God started as a band called Burn the Priest. Guitarist
Mark Morton, drummer Chris Adler, and bassist John
Campbell, all attended college at the Virginia
Commonwealth University and were looking to break
out onto the scene. They found their missing links in the
form of vocalist Randy Blythe and Legion Records, and in 1998. they produced their self-titled album,
Burn the Priest. Even though it got overall ruse reviews. they had a hard time booking venues because
many establishment owners said that they had an offensive name. So, with the addition of guitarist Willie
Adler, they changed their name to Lamb of God in 2000. Page 7•

Behrend's reaction
Penn State Behrend students are
shocked over the incident involv
ing A-list celebrities Chris Brown
and Rihanna. Brown, the R&B
vocalist who went from "Running
it" in his hoinetown of
Tappahannock, Virginia to mega
hip-hop star "Poppin," has been
accused of assaulting his award
winning unofficial girlfriend,
Rihanna. The big question among
many is: How did this squeaky
clean image of good guy whose
got it all going for him go from
boyfriend you want to bring home
to momma to slapping around his
woman? And worst how do his
fans feel?
Communication major Morgan
Bruce thinks it's a shame. "I really
like the two artists and thought
they made a good couple. There are
probably a lot of dark and hidden
secrets behind this event and I real
ly hope that everything can be
resolved!" Page 6.

Alternative Spring Break.
Reality Check usually spon
sors about two Habitat trips per
semester, says Lindstrom. They
usually cover a variety of sites
across the city. This particular
site was one that had already been
started by several "shifts" of work
crews. The house was far enough
along in the process of construc
tion to allow site leaders to heat
the insicde of the house, to the
delight of the students who need
ed to paint the interior. They fin
ished covering walls and ceiling
with primer and edging around the
walls.
As for the rest of the students,
much of the day was spent out
side. Luckily, the day was one of
the warmer of the week. Those
who worked on the shed outside
built and attached gables to the
shed and prepared the door frame
for further construction.
After the event, the group got
back together in the living room
of the house. Though the preva
lent feeling seemed to be a uni
form exhaustion, ~the students
were also impacted by the fact
that by simply giving five hours
on a Saturday afternoon, they
helped to change the life of an
Erie resident forever.
