Friday, December 14, 2007 Who is naughty and nice in the world of sports By Andrew McLachlan sports editor v.in5(06(0 psthedu 'Tis the season to decorate your house with lights. prepare the Christmas tree. and make your Christmas list. This year. I am making a list of what I am getting people this year for Christmas. due to that I am in a gener ous mood lately and I really think that I nailed it on the head with what people want or need this On the top of the list, I have Torn Brady. This year. Brady is getting the flu from me. Listen. our team has unre al talent and you're making everyone else look hat . Getting the flu will make you sit out one game tops. Plus, if you win with either Matt Cassell or Matt Gutierrei. you guys will truly he the hest Next. I have Brady's coach Bill Belichick. who this year will he getting a suit from me. The hoodie thing was cool for a while. hut it is time to upgrade. You might he coaching the great est team of all-time and you need to look good while doing it. Just give me your measurements and I'll place an order. Even though I really do not want to buy him any thing. Barry Bonds is on my list. Bonds, I thought about ~, o ur gift for a while and this year. I'm baking you a cake with a file in it. Face it. you might go to prison for perjury. With . our upcoming trial. 1 am nervous. I do not want to sec you in jail with those animals, so I'm going to get you sonic piotection. For the phenom Sidney Crosby. 1 am getting you DJ Craven. Crosby may open his gift and wonder. Beat The Experts Email asmsoo6@psu.edu or mbwso2B@psu.edu by Saturday at 9 a.m. to enter your picks. Winners will receive gifts from the Behrend Beacon Staff. CAA Penn St.'s. Craven is the all-time leading goal scorer in Penn State Behrend history and last time I checked. Crosby, you need a winger that can score. Craven has proven that, at the D-111 club level, and he is currently unsigned. If you don't like the gift, I can make a few calls and see what Nils Ekman is doing these days. Football coach Bobby Petrino is on my list and I got just the thing for the coach. Petrino is getting Runaway Bride, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. I seriously think coach Petrino has a prob lem. He has signed 20 years worth of contracts in 18 months. You need to stick with a job. Coaching professional football is not like work ing at McDonalds. You cannot just get up and quit during the season for another job. Petrino is like the kid you played backyard football with who took the ball home when he was mad. Maybe watching Roberts leave altar after altar, Petrino will wake up CONTRIBUTED PHOTO and realize that he Belichick at the Espy's needs to see if that available For Pittsburgh Steelers safety Anthony Smith. I am getting a muzzle. Here is a real quick lesson on calling out opponents: DO NOT CALL OUT THE TEAM THAT IS 12-0. This is the reason why the Steelers got rid of loud-mouth Joey Porter. If you would like to keep your job, then you need to be quiet and play your position. Smith, if you really want to call out a team, call out the Ravens or the Dolphins. Call out a team that you know you can heat. For the last name on my list, I have Michael Vick. Wait. Michael Vick...man, I got to bake another cake. I will have to go out and get some more eggs and another file. Aaron Smith will he out for the remainder of the season from a torn hicep during last week's game. Smith has been Pittsburgh's starting left defensive end since 20(X). With Stroud out, this means Jacksonville has a total of three starters missing from the defensive line-up when they travel to Heinz Field. Also sitting out will be middle line backer Mike Peterson with a broken hand and defensive end Reggie Hayward with a groin injury. Last week in Foxborough it was New Englands' No. I offense against Pittsburgh's No. 1 defense. This week the biggest matchup for Sunday's game will sonville running backs Fred Taylor Maurice Jones-Drew and their No. rushing offense against 'ittsburgh's No. 2 rushing defense. With the combination of Jaguars' Taylor and Jones-Drew as well as the loss of Smith for the Steelers, this will be the most difficult defensive running game the Steelers will have to face all sea- For the Steelers, they will look to t Jacksonville's weak passing defense as they have allowed 3,261 yards passing so far this season. Both teams will be look ing to utilize the running game on Sunday, despite the probability that it will once again be a muddy showdown. Willie Parker is leading the NFL in rush yards with 1,217; however, he only has two touchdowns this season compared to last years 13. The Steelers have gone 8-10 against the Jaguars since Jacksonville entered the league in 1995. Pittsburgh is 5-3 at home against the Jags, however they have lost three of the last four games. Their last match-up was last September in Jacksonville where Pittsburgh lost 9-0. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Heinz Field.
