A single guy almost feels like he is playing Frogger when trying to cross over from the Erie lot over to Reed, or crossing Jordan Road. Commuters are in too much of a hurry to care for the welfare of their fellow students, and only in extraordinary cir cumstances will a driver actually yield and let a pedestrian cross the road. In order to avoid the embarrasing situation of being stuck on the corner, waiting for traffic to subside, I offer several tips that could help: M 155 SAIGON Final Weekend! Aug. 3 I , Sept. If you get to the parking lot at an odd hour, such as 9:35a.m. instead of 9:50a.m. (when classes start at 10am). Odds are, there will he less traffic either coming or going, and crossing will he easier then. -Wait for an attractive male or female to attempt a crossing first, then TAILGATE THEM! -There are strengths in numbers. If you see a group of students, follow them. It's likely that you will be able to cross with them. Do not attempt to cross without looking. I am sur prised how some students will cross with their heads down, talking on their cell phones, expecting their hurried and tardy peers to slow down and stop for them. Luckily for those on cell phones, they are usually attractive, so the second tip applies to them... luckily. Theßehrend Beacon I
