La Roche, 5-11, in the Allegheny
Mountain Collegiate Conference is in a 3-
way tie for seventh place out of 10. On
Saturday night free Pepsi and chips will be
given out. The opponent that night, Lake
Erie, is currently tied with La Roche at 5-
11. The Penn State Behrend team is fourth
at 10-6.
The Lions will advance to playoffs on
Tuesday night. The team clinched their
position in the AMCC Tournament before
the final two games of the season. So, will
the games affect the playoffs? Coach
Fornari replied, "They won't because of
the tie breaker: we have a tie breaker over

the women's basketball team played a
non-AMCC game against Fredonia State.
The Lions won, 70-64, in a strong game
from Junior Rachel Slomski
(Erie/McDowell). She led her team's scor
ing with 17 points and 2 blocked shots in
the game. Brittany Mays
(Knox/Keystone), a 5'9" junior con
tributed six assists and four steals.

DATE: February 13, 2006
Missy Pilewski (CranesvilleNilla Maria) has been named the Housing and
Food Services Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore led the Blue and White with a strong performance at the
Grove City Invitational over the weekend. Pilewski finished second in the
100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1.09.21. She also placed fifth in the
200-meter breaststroke and competed on every relay team, all finished in the
top eight of each event.
Pilewski's second place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke qualified her
for the ECAC Tournament, which will be held Feb. 25 at the University of
Pittsburgh.
