“I credit and send out my thanks to each indi
vidual on this team for making it the most suc
cessful season in Behrend golf history,” said
Black.
This year the team had six new freshmen, and
two of them have played in every match.
“This year my co-captain Black and I were
excited from day one,” said Pagliari. “We all
hung out and had a blast this year. It was the
most fun I have had within team competition.”
“My goal since I have been golfing for
Behrend has been to win the AMCC champion
ship,” said Black. “It’s a great feeling to stand
there with your best friends and be honored with
this title.”
From the perspective of the girls’ team, this
fall season was a short one for them since they
only had four girls on the team, although they
have quite a few matches planned for the spring.
“The main focus of our team was to always do
the best we could at the matches, while con
stantly working to improve our game,” said Hi
lary Neal. “We had a fun season, and we hope to
recruit a couple more girls for the spring!”
The other women who played are Shelly
Leonard and Brittany Gray. Leonard placed first
in the Pitt-Greensburg tournament reaching a
milestone and became the first woman to have a
first place finish in a golf tournament.
“I feel that the both teams had a good season
overall,” said Bowen. “Both the men and women
teams are looking forward to the spring season.”

The women’s soccer team is making every ef
fort to win the conference title this year.
Coach Patrick O’Driscoll said, “Our record cur
rently stands at 10-2-1 and 6-0 in the AMCC. We
are playing very well. Our goal is to win the con
ference title. We have a big game against Frostburg
on Saturday; they are one of our biggest rivals in
the conference. I think we have a good enough
team to go all the way.”
On Tuesday the women had a victorious con
ference game against Pitt-Bradford.
“We did well in executing our style of play and
came out strong in the first half leading 6-0 at half
time,” said senior Carrie Smock. “We finished the
game strong with a 10-0 win over Bradford.”
The girls are more than ready to win against
Frostburg.
“After Pitt-Bradford we’re playing Frostburg,
the defending AMCC Champions,"said junior Col
leen Applebaugh. “Let me be the first one to say,
we want to conquer and destroy this team. Our
goal is to technically and physically dominate this
game. We are completely capable of traveling
down to Maryland and showing them a thing or
two about soccer.”

“Everyone has worked so hard this year and it’s
obvious that we all want to accomplish the same
goal,“said sophomore Kara Struski. “ Our pre-sea
son was probably the hardest it’s ever been and
we have kept our conditioning up throughout the
season and will continue to do so as the season
progresses. One of our team goals is to be the fit
test team in the conference and as of right now, I
believe we are.”
The Lion’s are in the right mindset to get the
job done. They are working together and coming
out strong. Their record thus far is an impressive
one. No matter how well they are doing, the Lion’s
seem to be ready to work harder and come out
even better then before.
“As a captain, I think our success has a lot to do
with the team chemistry and the fact that we had a
lot of freshman step up and play for us,” said jun
ior Kacie Bums. “It is a key factor that the team is
so close and it is helping to strengthen the team.”
“This season has been a great success because
of our closeness on and off the field. We look for
ward to accomplishing a lot as a team this season
and seasons in the future,” said sophomore Nicole
Reges.
With the team’s combined skill and work ethic,
the Behrend women’s soccer team is headed in
the right direction.
