Monday is National Self-Injury Awareness Day. It is estimated that 1 percent
of all Americans suffer from self-injury. Additionally self-injury can affect
anyone. The purpose of Self-Injury Awareness day is to increase awareness
amoung health-care professionals about the symptoms and dangers of self
injury.

The Association of Women in Communications (AWC) will hold a Dr. Seuss
birthday celebration on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event is being
held to promote Read Across America and Seuss's 100th birthday. Activities
will include face painting, arts and crafts, games and readings of different Dr
Seuss books to encourage reading in young children. Prizes will be given
out, and refeshments will be available. The birthday celebration will end
with a birthday cake for Dr. Seuss.
