Updates from Student Government
The 2002 SGA will have 11 vacant Senate seats, as well as a
secretary position for the 2002-2003 school year. Students interested in
becoming candidates may pick up their packets at the RUB Desk start
ing on Wednesday, and must obtain 50 signatures from full-time stu
dents by March 15. Candidates may run their own campaign, which
will start on March 18 and will run until election day, which will be held
on April 17-18. The 11 candidates with the most votes will earn a seat
SGA elected Jacqueline Jackson and Scott Soltis to fill two empty
Senate seats for the rest of the 2001-2002 school year. Jessi Dearolf
replaces Katie Leary as the Panhellenic Council Representative.
SGA is now available at www.clubs.psu/BehrendSGA, and stu
dents can now have better access to Student Government. The new
website, monitored by Senator Sundeep Bhatia, features pictures of ail
SGA members, committee information, the SGA Constitution, the goals
and purpose of SGA, and much more. If you have any ideas for ways
to improve the site to make it more student-friendly, contact SGA at
898-6220.
