`AMERICAN PIE 2'
...TASTES GOOD AGAIN!
by Jeanine Noce
arts & entertainment editor
College life, summer, guys, girls and partying are
all of the elements that were in one of this summer's
largest blockbuster hits. "American Pie 2" opened on
Aug. 10, grossing Sl2. million. This movie was defi
nitely on millions of college students "to see" lists this
summer.
The entire crew comes back in full force for their
summer break from attending college. The central
character Jim (Jason Biggs) is still very shy and em
barrassed. The jock of the group, Oz, believes that
having a steady girlfriend is the way to be and Kevin
is still one of the shyest guys. The rich and perverted
Stifler a.k.a. "Stiffmeister" also returns, and the tantric
minded Finch has a total new outlook on life. Of course
Sherman, or "The Shermanator," Nadia the bombshell.
flutist Michelle and Heather (Oz's girlfriend) are still
friends with all of the guys. Along with these crazy
characters, you can't forget cynical Jessica and blonde
haired Vicky. However, there are two new girls that
are added to the group - the "so-called" lesbians,
Jason Biggs returns with the original "American Pie"crew for the
tasty sequel which opened on August 10.

Sequels arc either hilarious or horrible. This sequel
definitely is a smash.
The movie begins with one of the most embarrass
ing moments that any college student can ever endure.
Nerdy dad surprises his son early on moving day only
to find him experimenting with a girl.
The embarrassment on the screen can definitely be
seen in the audience's faces as well. Several specta
tors around me looked to have felt the same way at one
point in their lives as well.
From partying with girls, to being hospitalized, to
breaking and entering, these five college guys definitely
have a summer to remember. Jim, Oz, Stifler, Kevin
and Finch. who share a summer beach house, all have
set goals for themselves to accomplish throughout their
summer. J im wants to he able to he a wild and crazy
boyfriend when Nadia arrives. However, Jim gets him
self into a sticky situation shortly before Nadia's big
arrival is expected. he superglues himself and has to
he hospitalized, which was one of the funniest parts of
the movie.
Oz plans to remain faithful to his girlfriend Heather,
and Stiller is planning to obtain as
many women as he can in the short
period of twelve weeks. Kevin is try
ing to forget his old girlfriend, and is
coping with being her friend and not
boyfriend. And, of course, Finch is

Summer Movie Review
At the end, the four college guys
do achieve their goals in one form or
another. Seeing each character go
through obstacles and setbacks is an
experience that left the audience's
stomachs hurting with pain from
laughter.
"('he sequel is definitely ten-times
better than the first movie. This is
probably due to actually understand
ing all of the jokes better because I
was acquainted with the characters
and their personalities. I can not be
lieve how everyone in the theater
laughed for a continuous hour and
forty-five minutes..
The last scene clenches the entire
movie together, and can only be seen,
not talked about. If you are one of
the few college students who have
not ventured out to see one of the
most perverted and realistic movies
of the summer, this one is waiting
foryou.

NOT JUST FOR THE GUYS:

What suspense! 1 can not remem
ber the last time I was holding onto
my seat (literally!) when watching a
movie. At one point, I covered my
face with my hands. After I realized
what I was doing. I felt really stupid:
nonetheless, it happened. I am hop
ing that 1 was not the only person in
the theater gripping my arm rests and
hiding my eyes.
"Not only is this movie for guys,
but the directors try to make sure that
women/girls will like the movie too.
