Friday, February 23: World Vision 30-Hour Famine 10:00 a.m Students at Penn State Behrend will participate in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine from 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, to get a “taste” of what many people around the world experience every day. During their fast, the Behrend students will carry out community service projects at Bethany House, St. Mary’s Home, and Health South Rehabilitation Hospital. They will also help the Neighborhood Network, an inner-city pro gram that assists the elderly with home chores. Some of the hours the group spends together will include presentations by mission workers and Penn State Behrend students who take part in alternative breaks. They will also partici pate in learning activities that will demonstrate the impact of hunger in other parts of the world. Following the tradition of previous years, the participants will end their fast at a meal donated by Old Country Buffet. 7200 Peach Street, at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 24. Sister Mary Drexler, SSJ, and Kelly Shrout serve as Campus Ministry coordinators at Penn State Behrend and will oversee the 30-Hour Famine activities.
