The Commuter Council, in conjunction with the Lion Entertainment Board, is sponsoring the Ultimate Dance-A- Thon Survivor from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24. Based on the TV show "Survivor," the dance-a-thon will divide participants into tribal teams and the teams will compete to prevent their members from being "voted off the island." This year's dance-a-thon will benefit children affected by the HIV virus. Pledge forms are available at the RUB Desk and are to be turned in to the RUB Desk by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. WORKING TOWARD AN AMERICAN DREAM The Institute on the American Dream at Penn State Behrend will be hosting "Working for What? Winners and Losers in the American Dream." This conference will run from Tuesday, February 27, to Thursday, March 1. The three-day event will include two lectures, six 90-minute workshops moderated by community leaders, and a dramatic presentation of Working, a play by Studs Terkel. Lecturers for the conference will be Dr. Cornel West and Dr. Annette Levitt, professor of English at Drexel University. The 90-minute workshops include: Business and the American Dream Local Unions and the American Dream I Dream of America Social Intervention and the Future of Erie Building a Healthy Community No Challenge is Too Great: Re-thinking Challenged Students For more information about the conference, call x 6399 or x 6448.
