Hogan will present “Solar Storms” on Monday, November 6, at 7:00 p.m. in the Reed Union Building Commons. This event is free and open to the public. Hogan, a Chickasaw poet and professor at the University of Colorado, has taught writing workshops at various universities and Indian and rural -munities. The 72,800-square-foot ARC, which replaces Erie Hall, will feature three all-purpose courts and performance gym seating 1,600, an eight lane swimming pool, a weight room, a three-lane running track jump ing pits, an aerobics room, locker rooms, offices, and a variety of ex ercise equipment. Erie Hall, with one basketball court and seating for 550, will continue to be used as a recreation facility offering activities such as ballroom dancing, badminton, and yoga. The ARC dedication will include a message from the president of Penn State Behrend’s student government, performances by the dance team, the cheerleaders, the Pep Band, and, of course, an appearance by the Behrend Lion. Women's Olympic and World Cup soccer teams, will speak at iVnn State brie. The Behrend College, on Thursday, November 16. at 7:30 p.m. in the Uced l Inion Building Commons. Chastain became an instant international celebrity upon her game-winning penalty kick in the 1999 World Cup finals. She was a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. Women's National Team in the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, and played every minute of the USA’s live matches at that event. Chastain is for the Women’s Association Sacramento Storm.
