FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2000 Oscar’s Pub recieves two forks u by Roger Burlingame staff writer Last weekend I had the opportunity to dine at Oscar’s Pith and Eatery. It was wonderful. 1 was impressed with every aspect of their food, service, atmosphere, and selection. Oscar's is located on west 12 lh street just west of the 1-79 exit On the outside, Oscar's looks like a quaint little home; a small house painted white, complete with shutters; however, once you step inside you're in a classy little German pub. Dark cherry covers every visible inch of the custom cut bar and the surrounding dining area; hundred year old pictures decorate the entire restaurant. It was a perfect setting for a perfect meal. As we sat down, we were handed a drink menu, and oh what a drink menu it was. 1 was trying to decide on a good beer, but there are SO varieties of beer at Oscar's, and twenty of them are on draft. There is beer from all over the world Good beer, 1 mean thev have beet that you can't even pronounce. Needless to say, I was like a kid in a candy shop. Their selection didn't stop there. The bar itself luul a wonderful top shelf filled with do different kinds of single malt scotch. not to mention several varieties ot nice wines and ports. 1 would ha\e to say that Oscar's does ha\c the What went by Jermaine Hardy features co-editor There was much in store lot lans of Halloween here at Behrend this year. As always, it was a time tor everyone to let him or herself tin and act out of character. Thus, here is a recap of the “spooked out” occurrences at Behrend during the Halloween season, While many Behrend students found enjoyment in this spook) holiday, Behrend also offered the biggest fans of Halloween, w hich are children, the opportunity to join in on the Halloween fun at Behrend. On Sunday, October 22, the Halloween festivities were kicked off with Penn State Erie’s Fifth Annual Trick-or- Treat event, presented by Behrend's Residence Life Staff and the Hall Councils. In this event, students of the Diehl Elementary School, along with children of faculty and stall here at Behrend, had the opportunity to dress up in their costumes and tour the various residence halls on campus for trick-or-treating. Unlike previous years, this year’s Trick-or- Treat event was sponsored in part by the students of the residence halls.
