    Yep, thats right. Behrend does have football teams. Of course, they’re
intramural, not varsity, but don’t tell that to the guys and gals (that’s right,
women were out there too) on the Playing Fields the past two weeks. The
Beacon would like to give a shout out to our fellow soldiers on the lines,
because it is definitely a war zone out there!

Breakout Day. This is where the
clubs and organizations involved in
the Feed the Need program go out
into the Erie community and collect
food. Members of the
organizations go door to door and
ask for a food donation. Breakout
Day will begin with all clubs
meeting at the RUB desk at 9:30
a.m. and is scheduled to be finished
by noon. All members of the
Behrend
community
encouraged to participate in
Breakout Day.
The second highlight of the food
drive takes place during Behrend’s
Service Week. On Wednesday,

OLAS. Alpha Phi Omega will have
boxes in the suites. ODK’s box will
be in the apartments. SUE will
cover the Academic Building, and

covered by Beta Beta Beta. And
Alpha Sigma Alpha’s box will be
located in the Reed Building. The
Commuter Council will have boxes
in off campus locations such as
churches in the Erie community.
“It’s a great opportunity because
it helps out people in our area,”

donations go to the Second Harvest
Food Bank.
