~~S~:I ._ LEB forms programming partnership by Christine Kleck associate editor Walking around the Penn State Behrend campus, one can't help but notice all of the signs that say "Join The Lion Entertainment Board" for various events. This busy group is responsible for the weekend entertainment that many students enjoy at Bruno's. From bands to comedians to hypnotists to coffee houses, Bruno's is never a dull place on the weekends. Magicians and special events such as laser tag, bungee run, big glove boxing and joust are all possible, thanks to the Lion Entertainment Board (LEB). Famous comedians from Comedy Central, HBO and MTV are no stranger to the Friday and Saturday night entertainment line-up at Bruno's. Here a fellow student takes advan tage of the last sunny moments of the season to capture the look of the land between the Reed Union Building and Erie Hall on paper. LEB is also responsible for the movies that are shown each weekend. The movies can be seen on Thursdays for $l.OO, and Fridays through Sundays for $2.00. All movies take place in Reed 117. Recently, LEB came up with a new idea for events at Behrend. The new effort is called the "Partners with Organizations for Programming," or POP. This group will bring new events to Behrend that will make it possible for more out-of-class experiences to take place. Both commuters and on-campus students will be able to enjoy these events. Clubs will work with LEB to fully develop the POP program. Together they will create more programming opportunities, as well as more exposure, for their clubs. Combining the hard work and financial possibilities of LEB, the ideas from various Behrend clubs, and the FOCAL POINT Wend hosts llth Annual Engineering Fair The Career Development Center hosted the 11th Annual Engineering Fair on Tuesday, October 3, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Nearly 100 companies were sched uled to set up a booth in the Engineering Complex, each paying a,575 fee to at tend. All students, regardless of semster standing, had ample companies to choose from. All engineering majors were rep resented at the fair. NEWS & WEATHER funding from the Student Activity Fee will make the POP program possible. Right now the LEB POP program is open to new ideas. If a club or organization is interested in working with LEB they can pick up a form at the LEB office. Once the form is filled out , it should be submitted to the LEB Club Liaison. They will then review the request. The other members will vote to approve the co sponsorship. Once the club approves an idea, LEB will help organize the funding of the event. It is the club's responsibility, however, to publicize and host the event. During the event, the co-sponsoring club will get the chance to advertise for their club. Interested clubs should stop by the LEB Office for an application or contact Lori Viola at x 6221 or lmvllB@psu.edu. .. .. ..:.: 7 ~"~. WEEKEND WEATHER 01131()()'F( SATURDAY ~` ~.~.
