On September 23, when you're in
your dorm room and the pictures on
your wall began to shake and your
desk vibrates to rumbling noise, don't
panic. World doom isn't taking
place, hopefully. But just to make
sure, peep out of your window, make
sure you're clear of chaos and head
down to the apartment quad to Cider
Rock. It's not world chaos, but the
next best thing.
Cider Rock is an annual festival
held in Behrend's apartment quad. It
was started last year by Patrick Kiley
and Shawn Masco!. The two former
executive board members of the Joint
Residence Council thought the event
would be a great way to promote
campus unity. "I would like to
welcome new freshmen and
welcome back upper classmen as
well," said Kiley, this year's Cider
Rock Coordinator. The event invites
all students to enjoy free food, fun
activities and music entertainment.
Cider Rock is co-sponsored by the
Joint Residence Council, the Lion
Entertainment Board, Student
activities, and the Skins fraternity.
Music performances will kick off
the festival at 6 p.m. with the entire
event ending at 11:30 p.m. There are
three local bands scheduled to
perform: "Freudian Slip," "Fat
