Yenscik to
stand trial

On October 16, 1999. a Behrend
student, Peter Yenscik, was accused
of the attempted rape of another
student in Niagara Hall. Yenscik was
charged with criminal attempt.
indecent assault, defiant trespass,
harassment, and the purchase.
consumption, possession, and/or
transportation of liquor or malt or
brewed beverages. Yenscik is now
scheduled to stand trial in the court
of District Justice Mark Krahe, on
February 14, 2000.
According to the criminal report
filed by an officer of the Penn State
Behrend Police and Safety Office,
Yenscik made unwanted sexual
advances toward a student in the
basement of Niagara Hall. The
victim rejected Yenscik's advances,
broke free, and returned to her room.
Yenscik allegedly followed her to
her room, acting very erratically.
According to the report. Yenscik
again made sexual advances toward
the student, at which time the student
told him no and forced him off of
the floor.
Yenscik was then detained by
Police and Safety and the Residence
Life Coordinators, to whom he
admitted that he had consumed two
cans of beer in his room earlier that
night. The alcohol consumption was
also entered into the police report.
