The Behrend men's basketball
team improved its conference record
to a perfect 3-0 (11-2 overall) with a
hard-fought 75-67 win over visiting
Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday night.
A raucous crowd of 383 was on hand

Led by center Chris Hughes' 31
points and eleven rebounds, the

Bradford team. The two teams
combined for seventeen turnovers,
39 fouls, and 48 foul shots.
"It's going to he like this in
conference games," Behrend Head
Coach Dave Niland said," where it'll
he an absolute knock-down, drag-out
fight."
Behrend came out swinging early,
thanks in part to a pair of three
pointers by guard Matt Keith, and led
16-2 just over five minutes into the
contest. Bradford responded,
however, by scoring the next seven
points, and pulled to within one at
18-17 with 10:49 to go in the half.
"1 wasn't surprised that they came
back." Coach Niland said. "I knew
they'd make a run. They always do.
They're a very good team."
Behrend held the lead until, with
2:21 to play, a Bradford basket gave
them the upper hand at 29-27.
Behrend then scored the last five
points of the half, punctuated by
another Keith three-pointer, and
went to the locker room with a 32-
29 lead. Keith made five of seven
three-point attempts, and finished
with eighteen points on the night.
