Scoreboard AMCC Standing R H E Softball April 29 Grove City Sports Know Your Lions... Jake Boyle Baseball by Jessica Tucci associate editor Freshman Jake Boyle is on fire this year. He is impacting every pivotal point possible for the Behrend men’s baseball team. He leads the team in home runs with eight, RBl’s with 46, and runs scored with 43. In addition, Boyle broke the Behrend baseball homerun record this year with his eight. His eighth homerun occurred during the AMCC tournament, but the story doesn’t stop there. It was the ninth inning with two out and no one on base. The next batter had a hit, and the next batter was walked. Then Boyle came to bat. The count, was at one and one when Boyle came through for the team and smashed the record breaking homer. Coach Benim is ecstatic with Boyle. “Jake is an excellent student-athlete,” said Benim. “He is having an incredible year. At times, he has absolutely carried our team with his hitting.” The Beacon would like to thank the Athletic’s Department for all their help throughout the 1998-99 season. A special thanks goes to Sports Information Director Paul Benim who prov ided us with box scores, press releases and an Athlete of the Week on a weekly basis. We greatly appreciate all of your help. 4/25 vs. Pitt-Bradford - First Round Behrend P-Bradford 1 0 4/25 vs. Laßoche Behrend Laßoche SOFTBALL (23-9) AMCC Standings Behrend Laßoche Frostburg Pitt-Bradford Lake Erie Pitt-Greensburg AMCC Tournament hosted bv Behrend 345 6 7 2110 0 7 9 3 0000 0 1 8 3 AMCC Championship Game 345 6 7 43020 11 11 3 0 0 1 1 0 3 7 3 The Behrend Lions competed at the Baldwin Wallace Meet on April 24. 3:00 p.m Thursday.
