The women extended their winning streak to seven games with a win over Lake Erie College on Wednesday and then had their streak snapped in a nailbiter against Frostburg State on Saturday. The women opened their week coming off six straight wins overall and a 5-0 record in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. The Lady Lions welcomed 0-6 Lake Erie to Erie Hall on February 3. After a slow first half for the Lions that saw them shoot only 12-30 (40%) from the field and 1-7 from three-point land, the Behrend women were able to enter the second half with much more intensity. After leading by just four at the half, 28- 24, the Lions pulled away quickly after the intermission. Behrend held Lake Erie to 5-20 (25%) shooting from the field and held their offensive threats in the first half to zero second half points. Behrend’s main contributions came in the areas of forced turnovers (28), assists (23-6) and three-pointers in the second half with 4-9 from behind the arch. Erin Phillips led the charge with 16 points on 7-9 shooting from the field and 2-2 from the foul line.
