By Matt Buser staff writer Senior Brock Bovuird has been the catalyst lor the men's basketball team since his arrival as a transfer student from Clarion at the start ot last year. The 5' 10", 165 pound point guard quickly established himself as a force for the Lions He averaged 15.1 points, 3.4 assists . 3.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game in the 97-98 season, as the team went 18-9 and won a conference championship. He finished in the top ten in three-point shooting, at 49% (64/129), for NCAA Division 111. He currently ranks as Behrend’s all-time leader in three-point percentage, at 45% (90/200). Through fifteen games this season, Bovaird is averaging 12.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game, and has helped lead Behrend to a 12-3 record. "He’s a ball-hog," junior forward John Park joked. Park went on to add, on a more serious note, “He’s a definite asset to the team. He’s a great shooter and he runs the floor well. His numbers, on a national scale, reflect that. He does a lot of different things and does them well.” Coach Niland added, "Brock is truly one of the nicest guys you’ll meet.
