All full-time faculty and staff: We
are now capturing photos and signa

ID+ cards. Cards currently in circu
lation will not work beginning with
Summer Session 1998. Phase out
will begin as early as May 10. This
ID card is needed for Dobbins Ga
zebo, Bruno’s, the Library, and build
ing and room access at all Common
wealth College locations and Univer
sity Park. Banking options may be
available as early as Fall 1998. Stu
dent photo capture will begin April
1, 1998. We strongly encourage all
full-time faculty and staff to have
their photos taken prior to April 1 to
avoid long lines in August. ID+cards
will be distributed April 27. If you
have an interim ID from the new sys
tem (white card), it is not necessary
to have your picture retaken. We will
print your photo on the new stock and
distribute it on April 27. The ID of
fice is located on the second floor of
the Reed Building, overlooking the
Wintergarden. It is open Monday
through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to

please phone 898-6035 or visit

participate in the program. This is a

world. This option will not replace
the ACUS 0+ based systems now in
place for residence hall students.

give you $lO.OO free calling (for 60

year membership to the Student Ad
vantage (a national student discount

Penn State’s Creamery, renowned for
its delicious flavors throughout Lion
Country and beyond, has agreed to
let Penn State-Behrend rename one
of its flavors on a temporary basis in
celebration of Penn State-Behrend at
50: A Golden Opportunity. Students,
faculty, staff alumni and friends are
invited to submit ideas for both the
flavor and the name in the Name the
Ice Cream Contest. Entrants can se
lect from these flavors: Vanilla,
Chocolate, Strawberry, Peach, But
ter Pecan, Bittersweet Mint, Peanut
Butter Swirl and Coconut Chip. For
inspiration consider the following:
famous Behrend personalities includ
ing Ernst, Mary or Otto, buildings
and programs at Behrend; and the
fact that for the first several years at
Penn State-Behrend, the fields at the
campus entrance were laden with
wild strawberries. The theme for the
anniversary year is “ Penn State-Be
hrend at 50: A Golden Opportunity.”
Entries will be accepted by e-mail at
axw6@psu.edu, by fax at (814) 898-
7116, or by mail at Ice Cream Con
test, Office of Development and Uni
versity Relations, Penn State-Be
hrend, Station Road, Erie, PA 16563.
Entries must be received by May 31,
1998. Members of the Anniversary
Committee will serve as judges for
the contest. In addition to the fame
and fortune and the chance to be
among the first to serve up the Penn
State-Behrend flavor, the winner will
receive free cones of the winning fla
vor for 10 friends.
