The Lions had smashed Pitt - Bradford earlier in the year by a score of 60 - 38. The Lady Lions finished their AMCC season with a 7 - 3 record, while going 17 - 7 overall in the regu lar season. Pitt - Bradford finished the year tied with Frostburg for first place in the AMCC at an 8 - 2 mark. Although the Lions shot the ball - lightly better from the field during the contest, the tail of the tape may have come from behind the arc. The Lady Lions have been known to shoot their opponents in or out of games all year long. On this particular night unfortunately, the Lions decided to shoot their opponents in the game as they were a dead 0 - 13 from three point land, while Pitt- Bradford bagged 5 - 13. "Pitt - Bradford played very well to win the AMCC regular season title, and we will have to shoot the ball with much more consistency if we want to win the AMCC tournament," said sophomore point guard Carrie Nestor. Solid free- throw shooting by Pitt - Bradford didn't help anything, as they were 13 - 16 from the line, while the Lady Lions came away shooting 15 - 24. "It was kind of a disappointing Sports loss," said sophomore guard Tiffany Buck. "We are just looking to bounce back in the AMCC tournament," added Buck. Senior captain Emily Marini led the scoring attack with 16 points while adding 5 rebounds. Carrie Nestor had a solid game as she pulled down a team high 7 rebounds and 7 steals, while also chipping in 6 points. Also contributing to the scoring attack were both Nikki Schultz and Megan Supernovich with 12 and 8 points apiece. Last Saturday the Lady Lions hosted Pitt - Greensburg on their se nior night, as they came away with a 58 - 46 victory. The Lions used their always con sistent pressure defense to force Pitt - Bradford into 26 turnovers while also coming away with 17 team steals. Senior Nikki Schultz had a big game for the Lady Lions as she knocked in a team-high 11 points, while also pulling down a team high 8 rebounds. Tiffany Buck and Kim Moses had 10 and 9 points respec tively, with Moses also coming up with 5 steals. Carrie Nestor had 8 points and 3 steals, while Emily Marini came up with 6 boards and 4 steals. The Lady Lions start up their AMCC tournament play on Thursday the 26th when they host Lake Erie at home at 6:00 p.m. The winner of that game will then play Frostburg State on Saturday the 28th at Pitt - Bradford at 3:00 p.m. The winner of that game will then play in the championship game on Sunday the 29th at 4:00 p.m. at Pitt - Bradford.
