Behrend will hold the fall 1997
commencement ceremony on
Saturday, December 20, at noon in
Erie Hall. If bad weather forces the
cancellation of Saturday's
ceremony, the ceremony will be
held on Sunday, December 21, at
Seniors planning on graduating this
December must order their caps
and gowns from the bookstore
immediately. The prices for caps

On Thursday, November 20, the
Office of Student Activities will
sponsor the Tenth Annual
Thanksgiving Dinner for Six
Strangers in the Reed Commons.
This year's dinner will begin with

A walk-in flu immunization clinic
will be held each Monday in
October and November from 8:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Health and
Wellness Center. Cost of the
vaccine is $lO and may be placed
on the student bill. Anyone wishing
to make an appointment for a
different time should call the Center
at 898-6217.
The Commuter Council is hosting
a campus-wide fundraiser to
support the Penn State Child Care
Center starting Monday, November
17 through Friday, December 5.
The Commuter Council will be
collecting money on Tuesday,
December 2 through Thursday,
December 4. Volunteers will be

assigned to encourage the students,
faculty, and staff to meet new
friends and celebrate the
community of the Thanksgiving
season.
On Tuesday, December 2 Trigon
and the Joint Residence Council
will be holding special events for
stationed near doors in the
Engineering Complex, Science
Building, and throughout Reed.
Eunice Moore, Director of the
Child Care Center, has given the
Commuter Council a list of items
the Center needs. Students, faculty,
and organizations can help meet
those wishes. Please drop kerns in
boxes thatwill be located in various
buildings. The Commuter Council
is asking students, faculty, and
student organizations to participate.
If you are willing to help during
collection week, please contact the
Commuter Council Office at 898-
6452. Leave your name, phone
number, and the best time to contact
you. Or drop your information in
the info bucket in the SGA Suite.

The Behrena Speaker Series will continue on Thursday,

Werbach, the youngest president in the history of the Sierra

message. Prior to his lecture, he will be a special guest at
the "Thanksgiving Dinner for Six Strangers." A book signing
will follow the lecture.

the "Blue Bus Board" near the
automatic doors in the Reed
Building for any bus schedule
changes or call the RUB Desk.
The Penn State Excellence in
Advising Award has been
established by the Undergraduate
Student Government's Academic
Assembly to encourage advising
excellence at Penn State. To honor
a distinguished Penn State advisor,
an award consisting of an
appropriately inscribed memento
and a cash gift will be presented at
the President's Award Convocation.
Recipients of the award will be
expected to share their successful
advising techniques and expertise
with other Penn State faculty and
graduate assistants by participation
in lectures, workshops and
symposia throughout the year.
Nominations will be accepted from
Penn State students, administrators,
staff, and faculty members until
December 12, 1997. All
nominations should be sent to:
