by Brian Gregory
Sports Co-Editor
The Penn State Behrend Lady
Lions are back in track along their
winning ways as they knocked off
the Lady Yellow Jackets of
Waynesburg in a doubleheader
Tuesday night by scores of 5-2, and
7-2.
"We were very anxious to play
with the weather the way it's been,"
said Head Coach Sharon Gregory.
"We left downpours for sunny and
seventy. The field conditions were
excellent."
Beth Calhoun was the winning
pitcher in Game 1 as she struck out
six and walked two, though she left
early with some forearm problems.
The injury will not require her to
miss any games.
Jen Mertz calmly walked on to
the diamond and saved the game.
"Mertz did an outstanding job of
effective relief pitching," said
Gregory.
