High 35 degrees. Dance-a-thon planning by Doreen Foutz News Editor On March 1, Behrend students will have the opportunity to dance the night away in Behrend's first annual dance-a-thon. Hosted by Alpha Sigma Tau sorority, the event kicks off at 7 p.m. Star 104 radio station is sponsoring the event in conjunction with local area establishments including !Q~` (' .~Fi, What Cartoon Character would you Doors open 4:30, seating limited by Michelle McKean Collegian Staff An opportunity awaits in the Erie community as the visit of Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson approaches. On Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. a man referred to as the "great unifier" will speak at Behrend. Jackson's Lecture, "Keep Hope Alive" is one of many in the Penn State-Behrend Speaker Series. Jackson has played a significant role in practically every social movement for the past three decades. According to him he stands for "empowerment, peace, civil rights, gender equality, and economic and social justice." Jackson serves as a leader both politically and spiritually to the nation. President of the National Rainbow Coalition, founded by himself in 1986, Jackson is devoted to education. He said he believes in encouraging the youth of our nation. He frequently visits high schools, colleges and universities to emphasize the importance of education and a drug-free lifestyle. Jackson has received over 40 honorary degrees and has been presented with many honors for his dedication to human rights and social justice. Subway, Perkins, Applebee's, Olive Garden, and Pepsi.
