Thursday, September 19, 1996 Lady Lions boot record to 5-0 Deemer looks to go deep! The Lady Kickers have only given up one shot on goal this year and they have not allowed any goals. Michelle Finch had two goals. Lara Herrmann, Lauren Arrigo, Laura Perry, Jifl Yamma, and Melissa Snyder each added one each to give the Lady Lions another impressive victory. “We dominated the game and played well as a team,” commented Lauren Arrigo. Lisa Fox echoed the sense of “team” saying, “we’re playing well together. We have good unity.” The defense didn’t let the Lady Bison close in for a shot and goalie Mary Anne Rupp did not have to make a save for the third time in four games. “We’re glad we did so well,” said Finch. “It was a redemption after last year’s loss (to Bethany).” Next up for the Lady Liotis is Division 111 powerhouse Keuka College of New York. Keuka beat Behrend 7-0 last year. Incidentally, Keuka is also 5-0 and have yet to give up a goal on the young season. “They are a top 20 team,” commented Head Coach Dan Perrilano of Keuka. “It will be a big test for us to see where we are.” Sophomore dcfenseperson Kristen Gonter echoed Perritano on Keuka’s strength. “(They) will be a huge challenge. If we play to our potential, we’ll have the ability to punish them.” “It will be a battle,” said Fox. “Whoever is left standing ih the end will wiri.” The Lady Lions return home to play Allegheny on Tuesday.
