Cars vandalized
by Brad Park
Collegian Staff
At approximately 1:35 a.m.,
on April 1, four Behrend students
were seen vandalizing cars in
Behrend's F Lot.
Bill Donahue, Director of
Police and Safety explained,
"There was another student in the
parking lot at that time (1:35
a.m.) and saw four people in and
around some of the cars, heard
some damage, and then called
Police and Safety."
"We've got some suspects,"
said Donahue concerning the
investigation. "But the
investigation isn't at the point
where we're able to file charges
for that vandalism."
"One car had both rear view
mirrors on the outside broken,"
said Donahue describing the
damage. "One had a windshield

Donahue gave physical
descriptions of the suspects,
"There were four white males,
one had on a flannel shirt. They
were seen running towards
Porcupine Hall."
Whether or not this is an
isolated incident, Donahue
replied, "Last fall, we had
problems up in S Lot. It wasn't
a lot of vandalism when you
consider the volume of cars that
we have on campus, it was still
vandalism nonetheless. We
stepped-up our patrols in that area
and it seems as though it has
tapered off up there. For some
reason it seems that it has popped
up in F lot now."
"We've had several incidents of

Ally Day was formed by
Trigon to, according to Sue
Daley, "counteract homophobia."
"Ally Day was created to invite
hetrosexuals to support and learn
about the culture of gays,
lesbians, and bisexuals," Daley
continued. "People are asked to
wear or place a symbol where
they work that shows they aren't
homophobic."
Last year's turnout was
described as "really good" and the
student reaction was positive
overall.

vandalism in that lot (F lot) over
the past three or four weeks," said
Donahue.
Donahue expressed his
gratitude toward the person who
decided to get involved. "What
helped the most was the fact that
there was someone who wanted
to get involved and called us
whenever they saw what
happened. That's commendable.
His car wasn't one of the ones
vandalized. That's what gave us
the break to get us to the point
where we are now."
Donahue also added, "I can't
emphasis enough how much we
appreciate the fact that somebody
saw something and took the time
to call us and get involved."
