man from his burning car
Monday morning in North East.
Father and son Ronald and
Michael Galbreath saved
Christopher Lee Jenkins from
his flaming car which had
slammed head-on into a tree on
East Lake Road.
Michael was home watching
television at 2 a.m. what he
heard his car alarm go off. His
alarm had been triggered by the
impact of Jenkiit's car hitting a
tree.
"I thought someone was
trying to break into my car,"
said Michael
When Michael went outside
to check on his car he saw
Jenkins' vehicle on fire.
Michael and his father
attempted to put the fire out
with an extinguisher. The fire
did not die so Michael and
Ronald pulled the driver's door
down to die ground.
When Jenkins was pulled
from the vehicle be was
unconscious. Michael and

the yard, stabilized him and put
blankets over him. Michael
said Jenkins then showed signs

been injured attempting to
rescue Jenkins, Michael said, "I
never beaked out or got scared.
Everything kept coming to my
mind and I just kept doing it."
Ronald said, "We weren't
worried about it (getting hurt).
We just wanted to get him out"
A couple minutes later the car
went up in flames. Sheryl
