Attention juniors: The Truman Scholarship awards a $30,000
scholarship for college students preparing for public service careers
($3,000 for senior year and $27,000 for graduate studies). Inquiries
should be made no later than Monday, Oct. 31 by contacting Mari
Trenklc at x 6160.
Two Washington, D.C. Internships: deadline is Nov. 1 for
die Dept, of State internship program (paid mid unpaid) and the FBI
summer honors internship program (paid) for summer 1995. Contact

Potential students must attend all three sessions. The first meeting
will be on Thursday, Nov, 3 from 5:30-7 p.m. This session is
optional for Behrend students only. The second and third meetings
will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 from 5-10:30
p.m. All meetings will be held in the Reed Lecture Hall. Call to

The History Club will be sponsorings Dr. John Rossi's lecture,
"To End the Wan Woodrow Wilson. Radio, and the End of World
War 1” on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. in Science 117 as part of its lecture
series, "Past, Present, and Future: History Club Lecture Series."
USA-Today is seeking nominations for the nation's best and
brightest college students for its All-USA Today 1995 Academic
Team. $2,500 cash prizes possible. All undergraduates eligible.
Criteria include academic excellence, leadership and a significant
original academic or intellectual project Deadline is Nov. 36., Stop
by the Provost's Office or call x 6160 for more information.
The NCAA Foundation will be awarding eight $3,000
scholarships for'the 1995-96 academic year to outstanding senior
sports-journalism majors. Candidates for these awards will inelude
foil-time, aecciad Applications can bo obtained
from Mari Trenkfein the Pfovosfs Office. The deadline to applyis
Dec. 16,1994.

Police and Safety report
October 19: Two juveniles were discovered taking valve stem covers off of
cars parked on campus.
October 19: A student reported not receiving a letter that was mailed to her.
October 20: A student reported that someone had scratched her car while it
was parked on campus.
October 20: A student was found to be in violation of College policy by
having a knife in his room. The knife was confiscated and the student was
referred to the Behrend student judicial system.
October 22: Police and Safety officers responded to a call of a keg party in the
Wintergreen Gorge. One person was cited for underage drinking.
October 23: A student was cited for driving over the grass median in "S" Lot.
October 24: A student's vehicle was broken into and items were taken. The
car was parked by Maintenance and Operations.
October 24: Police and Safety officers recovered a vehicle which was stolen
from an off campus address.
October 24: It was reported to Police and Safety that some files were taken
from the Psychology Lab.
October 25: A student reported receiving numerous obscene telephone calls.
