Women's Day Fair: The Health and Wellness Center is
sponsoring the fair to be held on Tuesday, April 5 in the farmer
library space from 10 a.m-2 p.m. There will be free food, samples,
literature, and health guides. A special brown bag lunch titled
"Mammography: The Facts" will be in the Reed Seminar Room
from noon-1 pjn. All events are free to students, faculty, and staff.
Accounting Club Elections: The Accounting Club will be
bedding elections on Thursday, March 24 at 5:30 pan. in Science
124. Anyone interested in holding an office should be in attendance
or leave a nomination in the Accounting Chib mailbox.
Mr. Penn State Erie: The Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority will
sponsor the third annual Mr. Penn Erie pageant on Monday, March
28 at 8 p.m. in Reed Lecture Hall. Admission is $3 in advance,
$3.50 at the door. For a group of five or mote, the tickets are $2.50
in advance, $3 at the door.
Career Night: will be tonight in the Memorial Roomof the
Glenhill Farmhouse from 7-8:30 p.m. Speakers will address topics
including radio, management and sates. Communication majors are
encouraged to attend, but all majors are welcome.
Bookstore Hours: The bookstore will be closed on Saturday,
April 2. Inventory dosings are tentatively scheduled for either Friday
or Saturday, April 29 or 30.
Career Developmeat Series: The workshop "Job Interviewing
Skills Workshop" will be repeated today at 5 p.m. in the Reed
Conference Room.
Teaching Award Nominations: Forms to nominate professors
for the Behrend College Council of Fellows Excellence in Teaching
Award must be submitted to the Office of the Provost and Dean by
Friday, April 1. The forms are available in the library, the Office of
Student Services, the academic unit offices, and die Office of die
Provost and Dean.
Truman Scholarship Meetiag: Freshmen and sophomores
with 3.0» GPA can find out more about the Truman Scholarship and
other MtMMi competitions for awards, fellowships and summer
study, or internship opportunities.
Alumni Career Panels: Panels from the School of Engineering
and Engineering Technology, and the Division of Humanities mid
Social Sciences will be today at 5:15 p.m. in Reed 117 mid 116
respectively.

Police Report
Tuesday, March IS
Several students on campus reported receiving "hang-up" phone calls. The calls are believed to be
originating from on campus and the case is under investigation.
The Athletic Department reported a VCR taken from Erie Hall.
Friday, March 18
A student reported receiving harassing phone calls. The case is under investigation.
Two students were involved in a motor vehicle accident on College Drive. There were no injuries,
but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Saturday, March 19
A window screen in the Apartments was found to be cut. There was no access to the apartment
Sunday, March 20
Charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol have been filed against a Behrend student after
he was observed driving in an erratic manner.
NOTE:
There was a question as to why the Sigma Kappa Nu fraternity was the only fraternity listed in the crime
statistics published in the February 17 edition of The Collegian.
The Student Right-To-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990 requires Behrend to repeat criminal
activity reported both on campus and at recognized off-campus facilities. At the time the statistics were
collected, Sigma Kappa Nu was the only fraternity with a recognized house. To be considered a recognized
facility, it must be owned or leased by a student organization which is recognized by Behrend College.
I am working with the Office of Student Activities to see if there are any other student groups which
meet these requirements. If there are, an amended copy of the statistics will be made available which will
include all of die recognized off- campus facilities.
It was not the intention of the Office of Police and Safety Services to single out any campus
organization. I hope this letter will shed some light on how the statistics were compiled.
