Page 8 Editorial Behrend had an excellent opportunity to show itself off last night, and thanks in large part to the athletic department, it made a fine showing. The Behrend Lady Lions basketball team defeated the Denison College Big Red, 92-73 last night in front of a packed Erie Hall. The whole evening epitomized class. From the NCAA stickers on the floor and backboard, to the increased number of ushers, Erie Hall was transformed into a “real” sports arena. The fans did an excellent job of representing Behrend. They were loud and enthusiastic, but also respectful of the other team and even the referees. The game brought media attention from local television stations and newspapers, a representative from the NCAA, many alumni, and local citizens. Our college came out looking grand. We should be proud of Wendy Ebinger’s 29 point performance and the rest of the victorious Lady Lions, but we should also be proud of everyone involved in last night’s successful display of Behrend College. Letter to the editor This is a response to the letter printed February 10, titled “Worse Than Ever" I would like to thank Mr. Duminak for his comments about the SPC movies. SPC is in the midst of reconstruction, and student input is vital to us. We need to know what students think in order to successfully create exciting programs. I encourage all students to report any problems with any SPC programs to the SPC office. I will do the best I can to personally look in to any complaints. After initialy recieving "Sleepless in Seattle", I monitored the quality of it I did notice several problems, which I corrected before the first open showing on Thursday night Things looked much better Thursday night, but I was not completely satisfied with the quality. Training sessions for all of the projectionists will be scheduled as soon as possible. SPC has also randomly selected several students to receive free movie passes in their mailboxes. SPC is currently looking for members in order to increase our programming ability on campus. At the moment, we are trying to function with less than twenty members. In order to better serve the campus community, we are looking to double our membership. If any student would like to become a member of SPC please join us at one our meetings on Monday’s at 5:30 in the Reed Conference Room. I thank Mr. Duminak again for his concern with SPC and look forward to talking with anyone who has a problem with SPC in the future. Thomas D. Keefe, Jr. SPC President kr ■ * >■ + ■ Collegian Staff-.
