Furst will speak on “Reading Realist Fiction" at 8 tonight in 101 Kern. Furst, a professor of comparative literature at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, will discuss Balzac, George Eliot and other writers. The lecture will also focus on Gombrich’s Art and Illusion and on the works of aestheticians who show how people “pretend belief." Furst has been a Guggenheim fellow and is the author of seven books including European Romanticism: Self Definition and Fic tions of Romantic Irony. (AP) - The job outlook for college graduates is good despite the recent stock mar ket crash, according to a Michigan State University recruiting survey.
